10 Reasons We Are Thankful For LeeSsang

There are certain songs that become more than just an air filler for us, they become a part of the major milestones. They become a representation of our thoughts and ambitions and pains.

But once in a while, if we are lucky, we encounter some music and musician that becomes more than just a representation or part of milestones. They become the storyteller of our lives or a mirror that allows us to see certain details of us we, otherwise, would have missed if it wasn't for their existence. Such is what LeeSsang has been to us.

Today, in America's gawd-given day of thanks, we want to share with you the 10 things that LeeSsang has brought to our lives and for which we are thankful for.

Click here about Kang Gary's single with Jung In, 'The Scent'.

1. Music

They just hit the spot. They sing the soundtrack of our lives as if they are living inside our heads doing nothing but converting our thoughts and experiences to melodies. They are the voices of our often dumbfounded emotions.

2. Truth and the Courage to Tell it

It's not easy to talk about failures and humiliations. It's not easy to talk about mistakes. It's even harder to admit that no one caused it but you. LeeSsang makes us realize that after

10 Things I Love About Kang Gary

1. Wisdom when to keep silent. LeeSsang has had their hare of public problems like that of their pesky tenant but he never said anything in public except for a few sentences and it is always a cryptic description of his emotions rather than about the other person. That's class.

2. He fights predictability. He chases new sound, new experiences, new adventures because he knows new experiences will make him grow as a person and it will show in his music.

3. Generosity. LeeSsang staff is one of the highest paid in the industry. When they do well, they make sure to share it with their staff.

4. Makes time for his friends. To this day, he remains to be the kind of person who goes otu of his way to spend time with his friends. He doesn't need a reason to share a meal or hang out. To him, friendship is an important relationship and he is willing to time to it.

Running Man Korea vs Running Man China Eng Sub

Please send your thanks to the subber: Tony.

You can head to the YouTube page and post a message of thanks via Personal Message or comments.

Don't leave comments of hate here towards Running Man China. RM China is honoring the legacy of Running Man Korea but they also deserve a chance to leave their own mark.

Thank you and enjoy!

Gil to Return via End of Year Concert

Now you know why we were feeling sentimental.

The end-of-the-year concert was planned at the beginning of the year. However, we did worry about the Gil's personal condition and whether he should or should not appear. However, we feel that it is but fitting for Gil to personally stand in front of the public to apologize. Gil and the agency decided that at the end of his reflection period, he will stand on stage.

Throwback Thursday: Nostalgic Look at our 2 Kids

We are feeling a little nostalgic today.

What started as a search for the right material to post for Throwback Thursday has become a trip down memory lane and we have to say that the cold breeze and hot caramel macchiato is unwillingly pulling some memories from when the limelight, stage, radio and fans were but foolish dreams for Kang Gary, Gil and their friends.

Almost 20 years ago, they were two guys with bad hairstyles and empty pockets. They had nothing but music in their head fighting to be sang, rapped and played. They had emotions only music can explain and surrounded by a bunch of friends feeling the same way.

Flip through some of their photos when they were younger. Click here.

They were innocent in their anger and lonely in their desires. They connected. They became friends… bonded in their understanding of their unexplained emotions.

LEESSANG SONG REVIEW: Clown

Clown is a perfect musical oxymoron.

It is an outright ode about the how each of us may end up with different social classes, jobs or personalities but in the end, if you look down deep, we are all the same, we all seek out to find happiness but often, we drown in sadness.

The genius of the song lies in the how Gil and Gary managed to create the perfect oxymoron by creating a melody that automatically puts you on high the moment the first note is played. It is a festive tone.

CORRECTION on ALLKPOP Article

Allkpop wrote an article about the last episode of Running Man where M.I.B.'s Kangnam was a guest and was partnered with Kang Gary. In the nametag tearing competition, Kang Gary accidentally ripped off Kangnam's nametag. The article claimed that Kang Gary is the first RM member to rip off the nametag of a member in his team.

Below is the clip in question:

This is wrong.

Collection of FAIL LEESSANG Cover

All for fun.

We all know how hard it is to copy Kang Gary's rap and Gil's raspy voice. That's why most of those who cover LEESSANG songs are forced to really change the arrangement (right, Roy Kim?).

Just note that most of these people trying to sing LEESSANG songs didn't rehearse. However, it still proves that LEESSANG songs aren't the kind you can simply sing without much preparation.

Running Man (Korea) vs Hurry Up, Brother (China)

Some observations (just observations, we can't prove it):

1. The nametag tearing battle was "designed" to allow a one-on-one between Running Man's China counterpart. That's why Running Man Korea members consciously didn't do a lot of chasing because they were poised to do a one-on-one against their match.

2. The game was, errr, managed to even the playing field. When RM Korea was leading, China started "cheating" to oust Korea until there were almost equal number of RM Korea and RM China.

3. Kim Jong Kook is still miles away from his China's counterpart. In episode 1, Li Chen (the strongest in China) won against KJK. However, it is important to consider that KJK had to face all of them. He was exhausted. However, this battle proved that if everything else is equal, KJK is far more superior in nametag tearing.

Top 10 Favorite Broadcast LEESSANG Performances

For the long-time fans of LEESSANG, you would know that they don't do a lot of TV performances. In the early days of their career, they didn't do so simply because they don't get a lot of invitation. They weren't popular.

Now, they don't do a lot of TV performances because they concentrate on live performances as they have clearly explained that they believe the best way to enjoy their music and keep genuine connection with their fans is through live performances.

#1 - Rush in Love Letter

Rush remains to be one of Gary's and Gil's favorite LESSANG song. It talks says so much about their love for music and drive to find opportunities so they can continue living a life doing what they love doing and that's making music.

This performance, one of their earliest broadcasted performances mirrors the emotion of the song they are singing. They don't have the confidence and swag they possess now but you can truly feel the emotion and sincerity in their voice. They are still finding their style but they are very grounded in who they are, musicians to the core.

They were young and casual in style but that only added to the simplicity of the performance. It allows us see beyond the marketing and image and just see our two kids for who they are, two guys making music.

#1. He has more than 157 songs under his name

Click here for a review of Kang Gary's single The Scent featuring Jung-In.

Kang Gary has been writing his own raps since X-Teen days. He has registered a lot of songs and some of them never made it to recording. He has a lot of songs under his name.

#2. 1.3 Billion for The Scent is deceiving

The feature said he earned more than 1.3 Billion Won just for digital downloads of The Scent. That's gross worth and only on selected digital download platforms not on ALL digital download platforms across the world.

Take into consideration that:

LEESSANG SONG REVIEW: If I Have to Live feat. Ali

LeeSsang is known for writing songs based on their lives but Gil once explained that not everything is autobiographical. They have also written stories about their friends or things they encounter or things that they imagine as inspired by their emotions.

If I Have to Live is one of those stories.

It is written like a story both in lyrics and instruments.

The Intro and Narrativ Set Up

Using distortion, the mood is set up. There is a soothing sound of a ocean breeze which puts you at ease but just as when you are about to relax, distortion comes in which feels like the smooth and quiet night is being scratched and wounded by adding more and layers of distortion.

MC Mong - Faulty Fan Lyrics (Contextualized) English Translation

The faulty fan stopped blowing
Too old to get a second chance
I am getting used to the pain
Deep in my bones are tears I cried with friends
Give me the courage I lost long ago
I'm past 36, I can't bullshit
Listen now, bro
